Dario Argento

Hailed as the Italian Alfred Hitchock, in his day Dario Argento has taken horror to an all new level with such films as Suspiria, Inferno, Tenebre, and Phenomena also known as creeps.
I Had the pleasure of viewing Phonomena today. Despite the usual trappings of the strange bording school for girls, this movie still maintained a level of decency in style and technique. In the hands of a moron who doesn't understand or appreciate European Films. More then likely this will bore you.

I remember seeing Susperia fourteen years ago and this movie was edgy and demented. the cinematography was breath taking. There was not, and still is not anything like a Dario film anywhere in the present. Films today don't understand cinematography anymore. In fact special effects oversaturates the market. In fact Sky Captain and Constantine comes to mind. Now I thought Constantine was an okay film but I still found it very dull and yet intriguing enough to watch.

I'm not sure todays movie goer would appreciate Dario because nobody understands Atmosphere with music, light and shadow. Most people only understand Crap like Wes Cravens work, and only because its been shoved down our throats for years. To be honest Craven isn't that bad as a director. I just think He is a total sell out rehashing his boogey man scenario over and over. his movies are more of a dry witty "wannabe Hip" horror Romp than an actual Film
Back to Dario, I recomend Phenomena, but only on the stipulation that everyone should watch Susperia First. I say this because Phenomena isnt his best work. It's good but pales in comparrison to Inferno , Susperia or Trauma. these are his better movies.

I ask that you please watch with an open mind and that you understand that people film differently than americans do. God I sound stupid.
I guess I'm talking like this way because My wife and I asked someone to watch Susperia with us and this person didn't like it. I felt insulted, I felt like stabbing this person, anyway enough of this. names will be omitted to protect the stupid Bitch.
Tomorrow I will be reviewing His first film Bird with the Crystal Plumage.
